“You must never feel badly about making mistakes ... as long as you take the trouble to learn from them. For you often learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons.” ―
Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth

Promoting British Values

Promoting British Values at Parkfield Community School

At Parkfield Community School, our aim is to prepare children for their life in Modern Britain, and part of that is through understanding British Values.

Our No Outsiders ethos enables us to find ways to recognise and talk about these values in day to day life.

  • democracy (Pupil Parliament)
  • rule of law (we talk about the Equality Act)
  • individual liberty (the freedom to be who you are)
  • mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs (everyone is welcome here)

Our weekly assemblies enable children to see British Values in every day life, and to form and share their own opinions.
